Specification includes the Saab 1.9 TiD 118 bhp 8 valve DT turbo diesel engine with a 6 speed manual gearbox, 17" Saab ALU 50 "Twin Aero" Alloy Wheels, ABS, Climate Control, Cruise Control, Driver and front seat passengers front and side Airbags with side "curtain" type airbags, 60/40 split fold down rear seats, Electronic Stability Program, The Saab Audio System with multi waveband radio CD player and MP3 and Ipod auxilary input, Saab Information Display, Rear Parking Sensors, Remote Central Locking and Alarm.

This particular car is fitted with a Parrot Bluetooth hands free phone adapter, the Parrot in my opinion is the best of the universal after market Bluetooth units, once you have married your phone up to it, you can just leave the mobile phone in your pocket, the Parrot will do the rest!

For the 2008 model year the 9-3 Vector Sport has a completely revised exterior, with a re design of the headlamps, the rear lamps, grill, a more typically Saab "clam shell" style bonnet, front and rear bumpers, the exterior door handles and exterior trim. The interior is very similar to that of the 2007 model year car, though the trim colours were changed, on the grey interior the Leather is a much darker shade, there were also a number of mechanical and electrical changes to the vehicle. the engine power designation for the 9-3 2008 models cars was reduced by two bhp, I believe this to be due to the fractional diference between the European PS rating and the United Kingdoms bhp rating, where one PS is about 0.986 of one bhp.

The model detailing indicating the engines power output remained the same, with a Red T on the TiD badge denoting the 148 bhp car 16 valve engine and the all Chrome TiD badge denoting the 118 bhp 8 valve engine, while if you who look under the bonnet, on the 118 bhp unit the oil filler cap is on the left as you look at the engine from the front of the vehicle while on the 150 bhp the oil filler cap is on the right. The engine numbers are also different, on cars with the 118 bhp unit there are the letters DT within the engine number while on the 148 bhp unit the letters become DTH. The 118 bhp version of Saabs 1.9 TiD diesel power unit can be incredibly economical, on a recent journey in a similar 9-3 1.9 TiD saloon and according to the vehicles computer, I achieved better than 61 mpg for the 130 mile motorway section of that journey.

Originally supplied by Reading Saab, this cars first service was also performed by Reading Saab at 16,360 miles, as part of the cars preparation for ist next owner I have just had performed vehicles second annual (36k major service) by my local franchised and Saab approved service agent, Williams Automobiles of Bristol. The car is still covered by the balance of its Saab 3 year or 60,000 mile manufacturers warranty until the 17th of March 2011 or the vehicle reaching 60,000 miles which ever should come first.

With a CO2 emissions rating of 147 G/KM this car is in Band F for VED, with a VED (Road Tax) of £125 for a full years disc.
